COVID-19 Safety
The health, safety and security of our guests is our highest priority. Please take a moment to take note of how we are providing a safe environment to welcome our guests into.

Please note:all Covid-19 policies are based on current UK government guidelines and are being constantly reviewed based on the latest advice. With that in mind, some of the information you receive at the time of booking may be out of date by the time you stay with us.


Broadlands Windermere has always put the safety of our Guests first. With regards to Covid-19;we will strive, at all times, to take the appropriate measures to reduce the risks from Covid-19 for our guests.

To do this, a Risk Assessment has been completed that both identifies the possible risks and then develops the controls needed to reduce the risk. The result of this Risk Assessment is that we have implemented a number of procedures to reduce the risk of infection and demonstrate to our Guests that we offer an environment that is safe.

These include:

  • Investment in sanitizing stations.
  • Maintaining social distancing by reducing contact with guests as much as is practical.
  • Implementing procedures and protocols where social contact cannot be avoided by ensuring appropriate measure are introduced to reduce the risk of infection.
  • Ensuring that cleaning and sanitising is carried out on a regular basis, to the highest of standards in all areas of the house.
  • By ensuring the latest up to date information/guidance on Covid-19 from the UK Government is made readily available to guests in the form of pre arrival correspondence with the latest information and guidance.
  • By ensuring that in our business, customer and our safety will always take priority.

We are committed to delivering a clean and safe environment and have created a 10-step safety and hygiene protocol to ensure our home is as clean and safe as possible. New cleaning and disinfection procedures have been introduced with increased attention to high traffic areas.

These steps describe specific processes and measures that are designed to make you feel confident when you visit us.


1. Social distancing

We are asking all guest to maintain the current social distancing requirements where possible. Where it is not possible to social distance we will try to manage the transmission risk by staggering arrival and departure times and we will be keeping all contact down to a minimum.


2. Increase cleaning and disinfecting

We have increased cleaning and disinfecting frequency throughout the house, paying attention to high-touch items.


3. Sanitising stations

We have introduced hand sanitising units in the entrance hall and breakfast room.


4. Check -In and Welcome Pack

We are stream lining our check-in process. When you arrive, please ring the bell and step back. We will greet you at the door, observing the social distancing rules. We will provide  clean disinfected keys, along with a pack of useful information for you. We will then direct you to your room;we will not a able to assist you with your luggage.


5. Express check-out

We are providing an express check-out process to minimise contact with guests. We request guests check out by 10am on day of departure. We ask that you bring your room key down and place it in the bowl by front door when you leave.


6. Bedroom Cleaning

We are deep cleaning after every stay. There will be no room service during stay


7. Linens

All linen will be sent out to be professionally cleaned.


8. Breakfast Room

Due to the current government restrictions, we are not able to offer breakfast at this time as our facilities are not able to support the social distancing requirements.


9. Food Safety

We are adhering to the strict safety procedures while serving all food and beverages.


10. PPE

Broadlands Windermere will use personal protective equipment as required.
